"New Balance 7 EE fit OK ten years ago. Have watched them gradually narrow across many models. Will have to progress to EEE or EEEE."

"Perfect shoe for both everyday life and a run on and off the trail"

"The Fresh Foam provides ample cushioning for short to medium length runs. The tread sheds gunk better than my 980 Trail shoes due to the more open tread pattern. As solid performer in casual duty as well."

"I primarily run on the road approximately 20-30 miles per week, but I've also race a trail run with these shoes. The ride is smooth enough for the road or track, but provides plenty of grip on the trail. Lightweight and comfortable, slightly narrow, which for my foot is perfect. The toebox is a little tight at first but stretches out. I'd recommend this shoe for anyone that runs on more than once surface. I'll be buying a second pair of these."

"I have only used these new shoes on one 7-mile run. They felt nice and cushion-y. I was also relieved to see that the color was red and black (like in the picture) rather than orange and black, as stated in the text description."

"Nice shoe. Runs narrower than your traditional NB shoe, I have found no quality issues. Warning: Fresh Foam tread/soles will wear quicker than you are used to. This is my third pair of performance/fresh foam shoes and all three wore quicker than older NB shoes. I think that's a tradeoff between durability/longevity and comfort/cushioning/stability. There really isn't a shoe with the same kind of cushioning and stability as the NB fresh-foam lines, but the tradeoff is that they are going wear quicker. So if shoe longevity is the most important thing to you, you might want to buy another shoe."

"I wouldn't recommend any other shoe! These are comfortable and fit great. I wear 12s usually, and these are just right at 12. Maybe even a little big (slightly, really), just in case you would wear thicker socks in the winter. Highly recommended."

"These are lightweight, good-looking shoes. But the undersides of the tongues bunch up and do not lie flat on your foot. I've tried 2 pairs of these, and they both had the same problem. Too bad."

"These have been my favorite pair of NB's to date. Cloud-like transition/rocker and outstanding grip on trails. On the downside, I had a stick impale completely through the sole of the shoe and nearly through the insole. Amazing shoe that once boosted my confidence on downhills, now has me stepping a little more timidly. Perhaps a freak accident? I can't call out alterations the sole since it has an amazing ride/feel - perhaps the design/production department has suggestion to make this amazing shoe more durable without hindering the ride? Otherwise, the upper still looks new after 100+ miles and the sole (glue) is still holding strong."

Functional Shoe Advocate - Nyc
"I'm an advocate of functionality and durability when it comes to footwear. In my 37 years NB shoes have dominated my closet allowing me to perform well with a high level of comfort in a wide range of activities. Which makes it hard to say that the Gobi Trail runners have left me disappointed in durability. Within two months I have had two pairs fail. One had adhesive failure in the toebox while the other began ripping under the laces. Although the shoe is comfortable, with great trail grip, the failures have sidelined my trail running. I now have to hope that the warrantee department is accessible, timely and stands by their products."

"I've already put in over 200 miles in the shoe and it's holding great! The combination of the fresh foam and more rugged tread are a perfect combination for a lightweight trail runner. Its a little stiff at first but breaks in after 20-30 miles. Has never felt to soft. Not a good shoe on wet surfaces but excels at gripping single track path terrain."

"Order at least one width more than usual if this isn't your normal last."

"I've loved the Fresh Foam platform from the start, but my one complaint has always been how fast the sole breaks down. This new hybrid has a much tougher last, one that, after having logged 100 miles or so, still looks brand new. This gives me great hope that I'll be able to run more than two months in them without having to retire them!"

"These shoes look ok in the pictures, but in real life they look amazing! Can go with everything. It's not even a green color. More like dark and light shoes of grey on the shoe. Definitely get them!"
