"I am a 9B in New Balance. I ordered a 9B. The length is fine. The width is narrow. The boot squeezes my foot from the top. It is so uncomfortable. I loosened the laces and put on thin socks but the boots still hurt. Trying the return procedure. I wouldn't know what size to exchange it for."

"I wear New Balance shoes for work and play. Due to poor product information I bought my usual size and it is a half to full size too short. The shoe is very rigid and hard. Will need to send them back and do not appreciate not being told to order up at least half a size. I usually love NB but this not this time!"

"I am so ecstatic to finally find narrow boots. It's such a blessing to have a boot w/ the correct width for my skinny foot so that I get the proper support for my weak arches. So much better than having to wear two pair of thick socks to try to fill up a medium width boot--which may fill it up, but doesn't offer proper support. I put these boots on and wore them the whole day with no problems. After years of searching, I now have a pair of boots I can wear in snow & bad weather--no more cold, wet feet. New Balance, how about offering your pull-on boot styles in a narrow width?"

"Ordered the 6E width to allow a little heavy sock room with my standard 4E requirement. Even with thin socks there was minimal toe box room. Returned the boots, Cannot recommend due to sizing discrepancy."

"I was looking for a pair of lightweight, waterproof boots that I could use for snowshoeing. I'm not a fan of other popular winter boots; they are heavy and usually don't fit well because of the thickness of the insulation. These are just right, and I know that they will double as good trail shoes in the spring "mud season" as well. I tried these on in the store in November, but they didn't have them in a D width. They fit all right with thin socks, but I thought they'd be snug with winter wool socks on. I ordered them online, which I have never done with footwear before), and they are PERFECT! My husband thinks they are a little stiff, but I have no complaints so far (with less than 10 miles on the shoes)."

"These seem to fit ok, maybe a tad short. But the pair I received was defective. It appears that the sole was not applied properly, almost as if it slid off a bit. They were $150. Not an "outlet" purchase. I don't know how they made it past quality control. I sent them back and asked for an even exchange. I was told thru "live chat" that I have to wait for them to be received and then I would be issued a crest. Then I have to reorder (if they still have my hard to find size) and wait for delivery. They will not automatically send me a replacement. Very disappointed in this policy."

"I only do "urban hiking" but love this shoe for wet winter weather. I have an older version in nubuck but was pleased to get this one in black with the teal trim. Though not as sleek as my dress booties, I find that I defer to these with slacks or jeans when I am out mall walking or hopping as I finish my holiday shopping, or hitting all the different grocery stores or in the process of getting in my ten thousand steps without having to sacrifice foot comfort. As I hit the parks and streets to take late fall and winter photos much more practical than my standard athletic shoe."

"I've worn nothing but New Balance walking, hiking and running shoes for decades. My recent order, same size and width, was a huge disappointment and I hope the exchange size/width descriptions return soon and it or else that's it. Everywhere else I buy footwear from I always order the same size and fit and never have a problem."

"I am very disappointed with these boots which seem to replace NB WW1569. I wore the1569s for years. Had numerous pairs and wore the 1569's all day working in the forests of New England to hiking in Africa. These boots are too puffy, you feel like you are walking on marshmallows; cannot feel rocks underfoot very well. If you are walking smooth manicured trails they are ok. But I am most often off-trail in rugged terrain; these are not good for that. The old 1569's never let me down and were the best on slippery uneven rocks, you could feel the rocks well underfoot but also were very confortable. Not these new boots."

"I purchased the 12 narrow, and though I'm technically a 11.5 AAA, I put true to size because I understand that sports shoes run a half size short. The previous models ran a little short for me in a 12, so I was worried. These are perfect. When I cinch them up, I feel so secure that I'm ecstatic because as far as I know there are no boots that come in narrow over size 11 in the whole country. I've only had them a few days, but they've already been storm tested, and I took them out on a muddy trail. Most women my shoe size are tall, so thank you New Balance for giving us options. These are not heavy back packing boots, but I find them very supportive. I need the motion control for support due to loose ligaments. Many people hike in sneakers these days, so they'd probably work for a couple days trek. It's one thing for boots to fit and another for them to be comfortable. These are both. If you're actually a 12, your toe might touch the end, but I actually have toe room , so maybe they would work for you too. More than just pleased!"

"These are EXTREMELY comfortable and supportive. I feel secure on the trails. I would give them a five star rating except they are NOT waterproof."

"I have been wearing an 8EE for years in New Balance, and this shoe seemed to fit at least a quarter size or possibly a half size too small, in both length and width. Shoe was fine otherwise but I returned because of sizing."

"I put on my new shoes to break in before I go on a hiking trip, there was no need for it. They are so comfortable. I love them. The only problem I have is that I need a higher arch in them; after I wear them for a while I feel a pull in my calf. This not because of the shoes. I feel it is my foot need a little boost on the side."
