"3rd time I've purchased this model. Love the fit and comfort but very disappointed that the 4e doesn't come in more colors. This is true for most of New Balance shoes and is something I wish would be addressed. Would've been 5 stars if more color choices"

"Fits perfectly and a very confortable shoe. I've been wearing 1260 stability shoes for a long time and now I will switch to 880 or 1080. I wear insert so it is the perfect shoe for me."

"These shoes have great cushioning and a nice level of support too! I am glad I was able to get a good pair with only 1 pair purchase. See my reivew for the 860v6 to understand what I mean."

"I'm a large frame woman who were men sneakers. I don't care about style: i care about being comfortable. I love to run. Being 5'11 and 275 lbs, it's important to have good sneakers. This shoe, out the box, was the most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn. I felt like I was running on a cloud. Wide enough for my wide feet. And good enough for my flat feet. Love it. Thank you for the colors."

"Thought about getting these last summer, but thought I would try a pair of Brooks. The Brooks shoes worked, but didn't make my feet feel as good as these NB shoes. NB for life."

"I have high arches and regular width feet. This NB running shoe is okay with my plantar fasciitis but I needed to take the foot insert out and replace it with a orthotic. Thats the only thing I feel needs to happen with athletic shoes. Orthotics that are already built in. I would pay the extra money that would cost."

"I bought these as a gift for my husband. He has an old pair of the same model and even though there are years between the purchase of each pair he states that these are just as comfortable as the broken pair. Likely to be the only brand and model of tennis shoe he will buy!"

"Had to return a pair of New Balance shoes which had a defect in the heel. The salesman evaluated and recommended these as a better replacement. They are a great fit and extremly comfortable. I have had them a little over a week and have walked / ran in them over 59 miles so far without any pain or discomfort. The toe box snd instep run a little big, which is great for me as I normally wear a 10.5 EEEE and finding those sizes can be quite challenging; even with NB. I would definitely recommend them to others and will be purchasing another pair very soon."

"I purchased this shoe for the EE width with neutral cushioning and it certainly met those expectations. It fits well for width for sensitive bunions and a funny shaped foot and the cushioning is sufficient and adequate, but I have to say my previous shoes (1080's) felt like there was more underneath. My only complaint with this shoe is that the tongue is way, way too short for the shoe!! I tried lacing differently to hold it in place, but didn't work for long. And when I tugged, the fabric of the tongue barely reached past the top laces and ended up curling up the shoe near the toes. During my runs, the tongue slips down, sometimes underneath the laces and can cause uncomfortable pressure on different areas of the top of the foot. So disappointed by this!!! It is a good shoe, but this is a no go for me for races."

"The 1080 was a great shoe before it was redesigned. The 880 was recommended as being close to the 1080. It is great and I hope you keep making them. You should bring back the 1080!!!!!!!!!"

"I work in a specialty running store and have shoes from every major manufacturer. The New Balance 880v6 has very quickly become my "go to" shoe for longer runs. Great support and cushioning with a light responsive feel. I am very happy with this latest update. Please don't change anything!"

"Overall the 880V6 is an excellent shoe. Very comfortable, excellent cushioning and great ride. It required 3-4 run break-in period, unlike many other running shoe brands the I have worn over the recent years. The other thing I like is that the toe box has plenty of room for my foot. My only complaints are with the extremely thick cuff at the top of the shoe around the ankle and the very thick tongue on the shoe. Not clear why the cuff needs to be so padded and the tongue is just useless, as it tends to not stay in place as I run. I would purchase again, but it would be nice of these problem spots were improved upon."

"Solid construction, great support for this slight underpronator, the fit is a little weird. The toe box is a little bit tight. The heal feels loose unless I wear two pairs of socks. This might be considered flaw or feature depending on whether you wear compression socks. The construction seems very solid after only about 40 miles. While the fit is not perfect I believe this shoe is an excellent value, and is probably the best choice for neutral distance runners below the $150 price mark."

"Like all New Banace shoes I have experienced, I had to go up a 1/2 size but as long as you know that isn't a big deal. They do have a wide sole that is a great stabilizer, especially during those last few miles toward the end of a marathon. Nice and wide in the toe box which is a personal preference. Like other reviews, I thought they might be soft and squishy based on the description, but I have found them to be firm enough to be responsive yet comfortable for those long 1/2 to full marathon runs. Definitely recommend these!"

"Historically wore 860s in an 11/2e decided to change to the 880s as I didn't think I needed the probation suppprt any longer. They're comfortable but in the 11/2e are a half size too small. Not sure if it's a difference between models or something changed with NBs sizing but they are too small; didn't figure it out until I started running with them and now I'm stuck with them."

"What a great shoe! Took them out of the box for a nine mile run. The shoes were already appropriately tied so all I had to do was remove the paper and adjust the shoelaces, and I was shortly off for my run. These shoes were true to size, which was refreshing, for my current NB shoes ran kind of small but tolerable. After the first two miles, I had decided that NB was in a new era of comfort and stability in a running shoe. The improved fore foot support was notable, but the excellent heel support for this pronator was much appreciated. The comfort, quality and workmanship of this shoe is just amazing, and I was most grateful for the feel of these wonderful shoes going into my 9th mile. Thank you NB for always trying to improve this American made shoe. In almost 40 years as a runner, I have tried other brands a very few times, but I have always come back and relied on NB running shoes."

"This shoe was really comfortable in the store and fits my flat, wide foot well with it's shape. I do not understand why you would put a pad on the tongue of the shoe at a key pressure point on the foot. This has caused pain on every run. In frustration before retiring, I simply cut through the pad and laced beneath it on both shoes and fit is much better. The tongue is also too short on this shoe and you need to add a longer tongue for a better fit and placement. After 40 miles of trying to break in, the pain has created a break in my half marathon training to recover, and I had to reconstruct the fix myself. Too deep into these to take back, but you really need to rethink the design and this shoe has not provided value for the money."

"I LOVE the direction NB is headed with the 880v6 and their other shoes I wear. The Vazee Pace v2 and 1400v4.Very nice update here with the 880v6. I'll start with the positives. The engineered mesh upper is a welcome addition as is the 10mm drop vs the old 12mm. The midsole is neither too soft nor too firm. It really hits that sweet spot. Cushioned yet has some responsive pop to it when its needed. The outsole is showing great durability. Especially in the heel. That was a major draw back for me in the past. Great traction as well. I like the flat laces as well. The only negatives I have is the fit. Not that it's terrible, but I would like to see the heel through the midfoot-forefoot run a little more narrow. Too much volume. I have to really crank down the laces for a snug fit so I won't have heel slippage. A similar upper to the Vazee Pace v2 would be nice. That shoe really locks in nice. Not a fan of how the Vazee flares out so much in the forefoot, but I LOVE the locked in and secure fit it has. The 880v6 has revitalized my running career! THANK YOU NB! Keep up the great work!"

"I was devastated when NB changed the 1080v5 completely different. They should have just called it entirely something else because the 1080v6 is nothing like the previous 1080's and thank goodness I discovered the 880v6 because this shoe is very similar to the fit with the previous 1080v5. If you have a wide foot with bunions and needs your foot securely in the shoe with a little higher instep, this shoe is perfect!!!"

"Overall is a very good shoe but a little pricy for what it is. There is something abotu the upper portion desing that cause pain in the instep, I va tried adjusting the laces in many different set ups and haven't ben able to fix it."

"I bought these for road running - looking for a good shoe for a marathon. I put about 15 miles in two runs on these shoes. On my first run I laced up tighter in the middle of the run and because the shoe seems wider than the Leadville model it was uncomfortable and I had to loosen the lacing. Otherwise the shoe is comfortable enough. When I compare the width of this shoe to the 860v6 these (880v6) seem to be wider in the arch of the foot."

"I run Marathons twice a year and am VERY particular about the running shoes I wear for both training and races. I have wide feet (4E) and look for a shoe that provides a good fit for the long run. When another brand shoe I had been wearing for years changed the characteristics of the shoe with their latest upgrade, I was back in the market to find the "perfect" running shoe for me once again. After trying no less than 10 different model running shoes in just about every brand, I finally settle on the New Balance 880v6 as my go-to running shoe. Even though I find this shoe narrower than most 4E wide shoes, I was able to compensate for the width by going up a 1/2 size. The landing heel strike is what sold me on this shoe. Many "cushioned" shoes are way too soft in the heel which makes me feel like I'm running on a flat tire with each stride. However, the New Balance 880v6 is the perfect balance (no pun intended) with a soft landing but firm enough to feel it spring my foot forward with each stride. The shoe fits well throughout and continues to feel great even after a 20 mile run. I also really like the overall looks of the shoe. The only thing I'm not crazy about are the stretchy flat-type laces...I prefer the corded-type laces but I guess that's really just a personal preference. Even though I plan on using this shoe exclusively for my marathon training and races moving forward, I only gave it 4 stars since I feel it's more on the narrow side of a true 4E wide shoe. Happy running everyone and remember...Enjoy the ride!"

"61 years old but not ready for the pure white sneakers so many older men wear; this order he wanted a "flashier" pair and was very satisfied with the dark blue, black and green I ordered. New Balance sneakers wear exceptionally well and do not become sloppy looking! This company stands by their product and is quite receptive to phone calls and immediate online chats..from a happy customer"

"I was fitted for this shoe to train for a 5k race. This is my first time running after an ankle surgery last Fall so I needed a lot of cushioning, and this shoe delivered nicely! I have the grey model and it looks very good and fits well. Overall these have helped me run with minimal pain in my ankle. I would definitely recommend this shoe to others. My only complaint is the tongue slides to the sides quite a bit and is annoying. If NB could put a secondary loop to keep the tongue secure I would buy this again."

"The 880's have fantastic cushioning and stability, but don't have arch support sticking into my feet where I have no arches. I tried on literally 20 or more different kinds of sneaker- even going to one of those stores that specialize in feet. Only these work- so if you have flat feet, and need cushioning and stability but NOT arch support- these are the best sneakers I know of. Love them!"

"This shoe was the closest to the 1080v4 that I'd been looking for. After trying both the v5 & v6 in the 1080 I was surprised to find the 880 as the best to mimic the v4. I have been able to do both tempo and distance runs in them. I hope they hold up...if they don't I hope the next version doesn't change too much."
